Gas Cell Features

The gas cell has a number of special design considerations that have been  integrated to handle the special nature of the very active gases that will be  passed through the gas cell and the problem of measuring moisture (H2O) down to very low levels.

Special Design Considerations Of Gas Cell

  • Gas cell 304 stainless steel Construction
  • 1/4 inch stainless steel VCR fittings
  • Mirrors - MgF2 protective surface over coated gold (high reflection efficiency) over nickel coating (high chemical resistance) over solid stainless steel mirrors (rugged mirror substrate that can be refinished if necessary at a minimum of cost)
  • Minimum dead volume
  • Stinger fill tube
  • 6 Inch base path
  • Pathlength from 1.2 to 6.1 meters  in steps of 0.5 meters
  • Volume - 500 milliliters
  • Pressure - vacuum to 2 atmospheres (higher depending on windows)
  • Temperature - ambient to 200 degrees Celsius
  • Metal - metal conflat seals -  copper or nickel
  • Windows - Viton, Teflon O-rings, other
  • Window options - KBr, KCl, ZnSe, CaF2, BaF2, Quartz, other
  • Prugeable secondary containment chamber between gas cell and FTIR
  • Other materials available (nickel coated aluminum, solid nickel)

Conflat Gas Cell

Gas Cell - 6 to 2 Meter in Steps of 0.5 Meters - 500 cc gas cell
